Exploration and discovery define an aging caver’s life who now works to preserve his fragile access.
This project was a two year process and I amassed over 30 hours of aboveground and underground footage. The documentary features Virginia resident and caver Phil Lucas. He has spent over fifty years exploring and mapping more than 10 miles of caves under his property and house. The film shows how important scientific research flows aside Phil’s intense passion for caving and the need for continued conservation.
I produced, filmed, and edited the entire project.
