I’ve finally finished going through all of the footage! It felt like a huge accomplishment since I had over 15 hours of b-roll and interview footage. Originally, I tried keeping the b-roll and interview footage separate, but it proved to make more sense in my brain to edit chronologically. At least, this is my methodology while I re-familiarize myself with the content and journey. Above, you can see the end of my sequence in Premiere Pro. I cut everything into a 2 1/2 hour movie. I also edited down a couple interviews I kept separate (collectively another hour). In total I have 3 hours of usable Camino footage to arrange into the end project: a 15 minute documentary.
Here are some stills I’ve pulled out.
I’m currently in the process of assembling the footage in a way that will make sense to the viewer. I watched my 3 hour movie today and made notes on index cards that I spread out on the floor. On the left, I organized notes by sorting out major themes and arranged them chronologically. I’m still trimming it up.
